  1. Brook Hollow Golf Club Assistant Superintendent Brook Hollow Golf Club, founded in 1920, is one of the preeminent private member-owned golf clubs in the southwestern United States. Brook Hollow has hosted significant golf tournaments including multiple Trans-Miss championships, the USGA Mid-Am, as well as USGA and Texas Golf Association championships/qualifiers. Brook Hollow Golf Club will be undergoing an extensive golf course renovation to restore the original A.W. Tillinghast design characteristics from the 1920’s. Construction will begin in November 2019. The project will include a new pumphouse and irrigation system, reshaping and grassing of all greens, tees, fairways and roughs. Additionally, we will be installing a Sub-air and Hydronics systems for controlling sub surface temperature and air/gas exchange on our bentgrass greens. This restoration is a great opportunity to learn construction best management practices, as well as installation and operation of state-of-the-art technologies. Personal Qualities: The assistant superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent and other managers within the department. This is a hands-on management position that requires a self-motivated individual with positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Candidates should have a willingness to learn all aspects of the operation and a desire to become a Head Superintendent. The candidate will be required to take full ownership of their assigned responsibilities and crew assignments with the ability to collaborate and provide input with the Superintendent. This position is full-time with great benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401k. and a salary based upon experience. Job Requirements: · 2 or 4-year degree in Turf Management or related field with 2 or more years of assistant experience preferred. · Ability to read and understand product labels and government regulations, including knowledge of the proper use of various chemicals and fertilizers. · Computer Skills-including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. · Valid Driver’s License. · Possess or obtain a Texas Pesticide applicator’s license within 90 days. · Motivated self-starter who has an eye for details. · Can work in all weather conditions. · Flexible work schedule-work weekends and holidays, as needed. · Operation of power equipment and heavy machinery, if needed. · Keep a clean and well-groomed appearance per club standards. · Some Spanish preferred but not required. Responsible for: · Supervising the detailed maintenance of golf course staff and related equipment. · Preparing and prioritizing daily task lists such as normal mowing and general maintenance. · Training all personnel in the safe and efficient operation of equipment, including OSHA requirements. · Maintaining personnel records, including time keeping and changes in employment status required by our Human Resource department. · Assisting in the development and implementation of all new standard operating procedures for the renovated golf course. · Monitoring golf course moisture conditions and scheduling irrigation cycles using Toro Lynx Software · Keeping detailed records and supervising all chemical/fertilizer applications. · Securing and maintaining an inventory of pesticides, fertilizers, and other golf course materials within budgetary limitations. Physical Requirements: · Required to bend, stoop, and stand up to 8-10 hours a day. · Must be able to lift, push, or move up to 50 lbs. · Work Independent--able to move about departments and club buildings in a professional manner. · Must have good or corrected vision to select/stock merchandise and read labels. · Must be able to work in a busy environment.

  2. Brook Hollow Golf Club Horticulturist Position Brook Hollow Golf Club will be completing an extensive golf course renovation beginning in November 2019. We will be making improvements to the clubhouse landscape through the duration of the course renovation. The Horticulturist will take part in managing these clubhouse projects and must be able to maintain these areas to the highest standards once completed. The Horticulturist is responsible for maintaining the Clubhouse grounds which include all lawns and flowerbeds encompassing areas including tennis, pool, front entrance and clubhouse surrounds. This is a hands-on management position that requires a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. This position is Full-Time with great benefits and a salary based upon experience. Job Requirements: · Have or is actively pursuing a 2 or 4-year degree in Horticulture or with 3 years of professional experience in horticulture or closely related field. · Some supervisory experience—oversight of landscape crew. · Valid Driver’s License. · Possess or obtain a Texas Pesticide applicator’s license within 90 days. · Motivated self-starter who has an eye for details. · Develop and implement standard operating procedures for landscape management. · Can work in all weather conditions. · Flexible work schedule—work weekends and holidays as needed. · Operation of power equipment and heavy machinery if needed. · Some Spanish preferred but not required.
