Bethesda Country Club is an 18-hole private country club located outside of Washington, DC and consists of USGA 007 bentgrass greens, bentgrass tees, ryegrass fairways, and a mix of cool season rough. We completed a portion of our master plan in the spring of 2020 which included all new better billy bunkers, two-wire Toro infinity HDPE irrigation system, and a vast portion of the tee complexes. In the next two-three years the club plans to continue the construction of the tee complexes. Future discussions have led to the idea of constructing a 9-hole reversible par 3 short course. Bethesda Country Club provides many challenges that will gauge a person's ingeniousness. These challenges include major shade issues, drainage issues, traffic/compaction, upkeep of recently renovated areas, and high expectations of ryegrass fairways. We are seeking individuals who are passionate to further their career in the golf industry and want to improve their experience with in-house projects such as building tee complexes, large- and small-scale drainage improvements, installing additional irrigation, and small-scale cart path repairs. This is a great opportunity for someone with a creative mindset who thinks outside the box on a daily basis to learn how to overcome these challenges with our veteran team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Golf Course Superintendent.
