    Up for sale are (2) Jacobsen AR 522 rough mowers. Both are 2011 models, one with 2913 hours, the other with 3984 hours . They were both used through the 2018 season for us here.     The Country Club of Detroit is a 120 year old premier private country club in the posh upper east side of Detroit community of Grosse Pointe Farms. The club features a historic HS Colt & CH Allison design championship course (Recently restored by Renaissance Design & Tom Doak), as well as a Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed 9 hole short course. The Club has hosted (2) US Amateur Championships, recently hosted the 2018 Michigan Amateur, and will be hosting the 2020 US Senior Amateur - interns will be playing a vital role in the successful preparation & hosting of this national tournament. Interns will be exposed to a great deal of construction/renovation work in the spring/fall of 2019. We will be working to complete in house bunker reconstruction (4 bunkers will be left in the spring), construction work with Renaissance Design where we will be adding nearly 2 acres of fairway turf for approach expansions, large scale 1 acre drainage addition/regrading project, as well as fairway/rough interface fine tuning. The Country Club of Detroit features a $1.6 Million dollar operating budget, with a brand new maintenance facility with state of the art control & communication platforms for staff management, pump house management, as well as a brand new 6 bedroom intern house, that is shared by other club interns from Golf Operations & the Culinary Team, which allows for constant team building, as well as learning how all pieces of operational puzzle tie together. We also have a brand new equipment fleet that will be coming online in February 2019. We feature USGA Spec Bentgrass greens, Bentgrass tees, & bentgrass fairways. We also have a new Grounds Maintenance facility, as well as a new Intern Dormitory that houses Turf, Golf Operations, & Culinary Interns for the club. Country Club of Detroit will be hosting the 2018 Michigan Amateur Championship, and we are currently gearing up for this event. Interns will play an integral part in daily conditioning operations, with a focus on small crew management, plant protectant & fertilizer calibration & application, disease ID & management, as well as an intense water management program. Interns have the ability to learn different strategies on how to effectively manage Championship Caliber playing conditions, in a very cost effective manner, and an exceptional building platform to placing as an assistant superintendent. Interns will not only have the benefits of meals, uniforms, on site housing, they will also have the ability to attend turf research days at Michigan State and/or Ohio State, to learn up to date, pertinent research in the industry. Interns will also be encouraged to attend MiGCSA Assistant Superintendent functions with current assistants as well. Interns will also be exposed to the board room setting, as they will be involved in monthly Greens Committee Meetings as well.     Country Club of Detroit is a 27 hole private club in the affluent Detroit Suburb of Grosse Pointe Farms. CC of Detroit is a club steeped in tradition & history, as the club has played host to 2 US Amateur Championships, the last of which was one by Arnold Palmer, launching his illustrious career. The club has recently embarked on an extensive renovation of the property that includes: -Complete greens reconstruction to USGA Specs (2010-2011) -Tee Reconstruction & re-placement (2010-2011) -Fairway re-grassing (2010-2011) -Bunker Reconstruction (2010-2011) -Irrigation Upgrades (2010-2011) -Short Game Area Re-Construction & Exapnsion (To Open in June 2015) All of these upgrades to the course have been accomplished under Tom Doak & Renaissance Design. We are looking for committed individuals who are willing to put the time, sweat equity, and pride into helping bring CC of Detroit back into a Top 100 Classical Course (Golfweek) - we are currently sitting at 125. We are embarking on long term plans with native area restoration, rough renovations, fairway grass conversion, and several other plans for the golf course. We are looking to help build turf students' knowledge, grow their management skills, and help prepare them to go out into AIT/assistant positions after college.
