  5. The responsibility of the Mechanic is to assist in maintaining the excellent playing condition of the golf course. The Mechanic will perform major and minor mechanical repairs on a variety of diesel and gasoline powered equipment under the general direction of the Superintendent. Experience Requirements: Knowledge of small engine repair Reel setup and grinding abilities. We have Foley grinding equipment. Golf course mechanic experience preferred, but not required for the right individual Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Valid driver’s license Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely Understand hydraulics, and all types of engines associated with our current equipment. Ability to inspect equipment and related component Must be highly motivated, goal driven and self-starter that can work unsupervised and remain productive throughout the year Must have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions Must be highly organized, efficient, detail oriented, and the ability to keep a very clean shop Person needs to work well with an assistant equipment technician to accomplish the work load.   7. As a key member of the property’s golf course maintenance team, the Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and assists with the day-to-day oversight of the maintenance and agronomic practices of the golf course and adjacent grounds, including but not limited to the clubhouse landscaping and maintenance complex. Assist management with supervising the foreman, irrigation technician and other employees in the maintenance departments Assist management with daily work procedures, prepares weekly work schedules, and expedites workflow for the foreman, irrigation staff and other employees in the maintenance department Assist with issuing written and oral instructions to maintenance personnel; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures Provide essential input to the Superintendent to assist in planning and managing the annual budget and the maintenance recordkeeping Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations Works closely with Superintendent in preparing short-term and long-term agronomic strategies for maintenance of the golf course daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly fertilization, irrigation, etc. schedules Assist staff when needed with routine tasks (mowing, calibrating and operating pesticide sprayer, routine repairs) Monitors inventory of all maintenance equipment and the use of the equipment Assists with proper application and documentation of all chemicals and fertilizers as outlined in agronomic plan and weekly schedule Assists with inventory of all chemicals, fertilizers, shop supplies and course supplies and communicate future needs to Superintendent as appropriate Assists management with developing, performing, and documenting safety meetings for the maintenance department Assists with monitoring and recording fuel and irrigation usage logs and report appropriately Perform other duties as assigned

  8. The irrigation technician, under the supervision of the golf course superintendent and assistant golf course superintendent, is responsible for the programming, operation, and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system and controls. Responsibilities will include all facets of course maintenance with a primary focus on irrigation. Specific tasks will include, but are not limited to, designing, implementing and maintaining mechanical and electrical components of course and grounds irrigation systems, repairing equipment associated with irrigation, performing preventive maintenance on equipment associated with irrigation, maintaining complete records on all equipment maintenance associated with irrigation, controlling expenses associated with irrigation equipment and activities, maintaining inventory of parts needed for irrigation equipment, irrigating all grounds as needed or scheduled, performing all record-keeping relative to irrigation system including weather and rainfall data; assisting in recording fertilizer and pesticide applications, grading and preparing soil base, laying sod and seeding greens, tees and fairways, attending staff meetings and performing other appropriate tasks assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent.
