  1. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent to manage all aspects of the golf course and facility grounds.   2. The responsibility of the Northside Mechanic is to assist in maintaining the excellent playing condition of the golf courses. The Mechanic will perform major and minor mechanical repairs on a variety of diesel and gasoline powered equipment under the general direction of the Superintendent. Responsibilities Conduct an effective preventative maintenance program in conjunction with operators to reduce mechanical failure and poor performance on all golf course equipment Repair of all equipment and golf carts Keep repair and maintenance records on all equipment Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical problems for all maintenance equipment Set heights and sharpen blades on the cutting units.   4. The Groundskeeper is a key member of the course maintenance team and is responsible for the landscaping and maintenance around the golf course. Assist management with supervising the foreman, irrigation technician and other employees in the maintenance departments Assist management with daily work procedures, prepares weekly work schedules, and expedites workflow for the foreman, irrigation staff and other employees in the maintenance department Assist with issuing written and oral instructions to maintenance personnel; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures Provide essential input to the Superintendent to assist in planning and managing the annual budget and the maintenance recordkeeping Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations Works closely with Superintendent in preparing short-term and long-term agronomic strategies for maintenance of the golf course daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly fertilization, irrigation, etc. schedules Assist staff when needed with routine tasks (mowing, calibrating and operating pesticide sprayer, routine repairs) Monitors inventory of all maintenance equipment and the use of the equipment Assists with proper application and documentation of all chemicals and fertilizers as outlined in agronomic plan and weekly schedule Assists with inventory of all chemicals, fertilizers, shop supplies and course supplies and communicate future needs to Superintendent as appropriate Assists management with developing, performing, and documenting safety meetings for the maintenance department Assists with monitoring and recording fuel and irrigation usage logs and report appropriately Perform other duties as assigned

  18. The irrigation technician, under the supervision of the golf course superintendent and assistant golf course superintendent, is responsible for the programming, operation, and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system and controls. Responsibilities will include all facets of course maintenance with a primary focus on irrigation. Specific tasks will include, but are not limited to, designing, implementing and maintaining mechanical and electrical components of course and grounds irrigation systems, repairing equipment associated with irrigation, performing preventive maintenance on equipment associated with irrigation, maintaining complete records on all equipment maintenance associated with irrigation, controlling expenses associated with irrigation equipment and activities, maintaining inventory of parts needed for irrigation equipment, irrigating all grounds as needed or scheduled, performing all record-keeping relative to irrigation system including weather and rainfall data; assisting in recording fertilizer and pesticide applications, grading and preparing soil base, laying sod and seeding greens, tees and fairways, attending staff meetings and performing other appropriate tasks assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent.
