Elizabeth Guertal, Ph.D., of Auburn University will discuss the basics of thatch and how to control it. The presentation will include how thatch accumulates and why, information on the best ways to control and remove it, including vertical mowing and biological amendments. The presenter also will discuss the results of the most recent scientific, peer-reviewed research on thatch management in creeping bentgrass and Bermudagrass.
