Seasonal Intern
Laurel Valley Golf Club, designed by architect Dick Wilson and renovated by Arnold Palmer is located in Ligonier, Pennsylvania (hour southeast of Pittsburgh). Since its opening Laurel Valley Golf Club has hosted the 1975 Ryder Cup, 1965 PGA Championship, and the 2023 Palmer Cup and is currently seeking a motivated, hard-working and determined individual who has a desire to learn and advance in the golf course industry. The ideal candidate would be one who is looking to eventually become a golf course superintendent. Interns will work hand in hand with the Director of Agronomy & Grounds, Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents to provide championship level playing conditions. The Club is currently in an ongoing renovation project which will include rebuilding the 14th and 15th holes next season. Candidates that are hired will receive a $1,500 signing bonus.

Position Responsibilities

- Proper Calibration of Sprayers and Fertilizer Spreaders
- Proper Plant Protectant Application
- Water Management
- Equipment Operation
- Course Setup
- Irrigation Maintenance
- Cultural Practices (aerification, topdressing, etc.)
- Lead Small Crews
- Being a TEAM player.
Educational Requirements
- Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in 2 or 4 year turfgrass management program
Experience Requirements
- Experience preferred but not required; willing to train the right individual.
