Spray Technician

Location: Plymouth Meeting, PA

Shearon Environmental Design Company, one of the leading landscape firms, is searching for a dedicated, passionate, and experienced spray technician.  The chemical Spray Technician, under the supervision of the senior superintendent, performs chemical and fertilizer applications to commercial sites, residences and athletic fields. This position serves our design, build and landscape maintenance accounts for the Plymouth Meeting location.

Everyday Tasks:

  • Reading, understanding and staying current with MSDS (materials safety data sheets)
  • Site monitoring and treatment recommendations
  • Performing routine safety inspections on all spraying and application equipment

You must reside within under 1 hour commute time.

Educational Requirements

LICENSING+ CERTIFICATION: A current state licensing and pesticide applicator certificate is required for the job. If you do not have one, you must have the ability to obtain one immediately.

Experience Requirements

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience required
  • Ability to operate turf equipment
  • Must possess knowledge of various turf programs
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
  • Ability to adhere to Shearon’s safety program, including drug testing
  • For core pesticide use and safety, commercial applicators must show practical knowledge of pesticide label and labeling comprehension; Safety, including pesticide hazards, first aid, personal protective equipment and emergency response
  • Pest identification and management
  • Pesticide formulations
  • Pesticide application equipment and application techniques
  • Laws and regulations
