ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT
Coyote Crossing Golf Club is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our grounds maintenance team. Coyote Crossing is an 18-hole Hale-Irwin designed golf course that opened in the year 2000. The golf club is healthy with a young membership, surrounded by a vibrant, growing community, and the golf course was recently ranked #6 in Indiana by Golfweek.
The Assistant Superintendent, under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent, is responsible for the programming, operation, and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system, and for assisting in managing the daily maintenance of the golf course greens, tees, fairways, rough and grounds.

The position will give the individual a look at every facet of maintaining a golf course at the highest level.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for programming, operation and maintenance of golf course irrigation system
  • Monitor moisture levels and soil temperatures on putting greens
  • Troubleshoot irrigation system repairing broken pipes, sprinkler heads, decoders, and valves as needed
  • Manage irrigation and drainage parts inventory.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on the irrigation system and pumps, including blowout and winterize system at the end of the season
  • Keep pump stations clean and organized, and logs of all maintenance and service performed
  • Locate all underground irrigation and drainage components, improving drainage areas on course as needed
  • Communicate problems and develop solutions with Superintendent
  • Assist in supervising grounds staff with all daily tasks on the course, including mowing, trimming, etc.
  • Position will provide opportunities to lead small crews in golf course projects
  • Pesticide and Fertilizer applications as instructed
  • Other duties as assigned by Superintendent
 
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Understanding of basic golf course grounds maintenance. Ability to adapt to a changing environment. Working knowledge of basic electronics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves, controllers, and various types pumping systems. Effective organizational and communication skills, including both verbal and written. Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed, and in a variety of weather conditions. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Must have valid driver's license.
 
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma and 3-5 years of golf course maintenance experience,  1-2 years of experience in irrigation maintenance, installation, and repair. Two- or four-year Turfgrass Management degree, certificate program, or related field preferred. Ability to obtain GCSAA membership and spray applicator license desired.
 
Date Job is Available: Immediately
Position Duration: Full-time, Year-round
 
Annual Salary: $40,000-60,000+ based on experience.

3-5 years GC maintenance

Rainbird decoder experience is a plus
