Wolf Creek is known for its appearances on multiple different EA sports video games, many VR and other online golf games. This course is truly a video game designed in real life with over 290ft of elevation changes throughout the property. With its unique landscape it opens and creates a great opportunity to learn a complexed irrigation system, micro manage many different climates throughout the golf course, managing bentgrass putting surfaces through desert climates,  overseed wall to wall in late summer, and many other great challenges to overcome at a once in a life time golf course. 

 

Ø  As a key member of the property’s golf course maintenance team, the Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. He or she will assist with the day-to-day oversight of the maintenance and agronomic practices of the golf course, adjacent grounds, including but not limited to the clubhouse landscaping and maintenance complex.

 

Ø  Please join our team for many upcoming large projects as we plan a new multi-million-dollar irrigation design and install, all new pumphouse, maintenance facility and more.

 

Educational Requirements

Ø  Two Year Certificate or greater in related field

 

Experience Requirements

Ø  One or more years of progressive golf course management experience or related field

                                                                                                      

Special Requirements

Ø  Must have a valid Driver’s License or equivalent

Ø  Must be able to obtain a Nevada Pesticide license

Ø  This position includes working outdoors in a wide variety of environmental conditions

Ø  Must have a strong knowledge and experience of golf course operations, equipment, fertilization/chemical applications and calibration, Irrigation Management and Personnel Management

Ø  Must possess basic and computer skills

Ø  Passion for the game of golf and the golf business strongly desired

Ø  Ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful

 

Responsibilities

Ø  Assists with weekly schedules

Ø  Manages proper application and assists with documentation of all chemicals and fertilizers

Ø  Calibrates and operates pesticide sprayers

Ø  Responsible for all phases of golf course maintenance as directed by Lead Assistant Superintendent

Ø  Supervises many small projects as instructed

Ø  Assists the Superintendent in preparing short-term and long-term agronomic strategies to maintenance of the golf course daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly fertilization, irrigation, etc. schedules

Ø  Assist the superintendent in development, presentation, and documentation of safety meetings

Ø  Able to perform related duties as assigned
