Spray/Applications Technician

We are currently looking for a creative and dynamic IPM TECHNICIAN II to join our Grounds team!

The IPM Tech II will exhibit proficiency in all tasks associated with the daily care and maintenance of a private upscale community's shrubs, trees, turf, and annual flowers. The position will primarily focus on fertilizer, insecticide, herbicide, landscape and turfgrass applications, and equipment cleaning. This position will also assist with overseeing and maintaining the community's appearance to Quail West expectations.

  • This is a Full-Time position.
  • Compensation: $21.00/hour!
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:15 am - 3:00 pm & one weekend a month

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Will energetically support all training activities with this department to ensure consistency throughout the community.
  • Will perform all duties in a safe operating manner while wearing all required safety equipment.
  • Will operate spray rig with accuracy and calibration specs from Manager.
  • Will spot spray nonselective and selective herbicides.
  • Will assist IPM Manager and Grounds Manager in the mixing and loading of chemicals.
  • Understands mixing and application process.
  • Will perform required record keeping for all applications.
  • Will assist with common grounds maintenance when needed.

Educational Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Must have pesticide license

Experience Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have or be able to obtain a Limited Lawn & Ornamental pesticide license within 90 days of hire.
  • Exhibit professionalism and leadership qualities through own self-actions.
  • Must be compliant with and actively support a drug-free workplace.
  • Comply with all rules and regulations as stated, whether verbal or written.
  • Will energetically support all training activities with this department to ensure consistency throughout grounds operation.
  • Will perform all duties of Operator 3 with excellence but not be limited to these tasks.
  • Will perform all duties in a safe operating manner while wearing all required safety equipment.
  • Positive team atmosphere attitude.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma preferred.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Bi-lingual is a plus.
  • Pesticide License

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • Will comply with all safety procedures, requirements, and regulations.
  • Will work one weekend a month 6 am – 9 am shift
  • Requires individual to spend long periods of time on their feet, walking, standing, or stooping.
  • Must be well groomed and maintain a neat, clean, and well-kept uniform appearance.
