Assistant Superintendent
Orchard Lake Country Club is in search of an assistant golf course superintendent. The assistant will report directly to the golf course superintendent and work closely with the other assistant golf course superintendent and turf mechanic. The Assistant Superintendent will be involved in all aspects of managing and maintaining a championship caliber golf course, these aspects include but are not limited to crew management, daily course setup, fertilizer and pesticide calibrations/applications, water management, project development, regulatory compliance, membership communication, purchasing, and budget preparation.
Orchard Lake Country Club is a member owned family oriented private club located 45 minutes outside of Detroit in Orchard Lake, MI. The club was founded in 1926 and was designed by the firm of Colt and Alison. In 2012, the club completed a Keith Foster led restoration converting the playing surfaces to bentgrass, restored bunkers, tees and tree management and irrigation upgrades
Educational Requirements
- Turfgrass certificate or degree preferred but not required.
Experience Requirements
- 3+ years of golf course experience preferred
Special Requirements
- Valid Drivers License
- Have or Obtain Pesticide License
- A strong desire to advance in the turfgrass industry
