Assistant Superintendent
Shadow Valley is an 18-hole private golf course with memberships limited to only home owners that live in Shadow Valley. We maintain all the grounds on the property including the golf course (consists of L93 Bentgrass greens, HGT Bluegrass collars, Meyers Zoysia fairways, and 419 Bermuda tees/rough), clubhouse, main entrance, pool landscape and parks. Shadow Valley is in its final phases of land development for residential homes, paving the way for renovation and irrigation projects throughout the golf course and surround areas.
Educational Requirements
Preferred 2 or 4 year degree in turf, horticulture, or soil science.
Experience Requirements
The responsibilities of this position are the following, but not limited to:
· Fertilizer/Pesticide planning and applications
· Golf Course/ POA weekly cultural practices
· Employee management
· Basic equipment repair = sharping reels, setting height of cut, etc.
· Irrigation diagnoses and repair
· Weekly project planning
· Decision making skills
· Eye for details
· Hands on work ethic approach and capable of teamwork
· Leadership abilities
· Construction renovation design and layout
· Prep for golf tournaments
· Able to lift over 80lbs frequently for length of work day
· Work Sundays and some holidays
