Job advancement in this industry is very competitive and we have a system in place that produces results. As a member of the management staff you will gain experience in personnel management, budgeting, cool and warm season turfgrass management, irrigation programming, labor management software, agronomic planning and the opportunity to host the prestigious Georgia Open biannually.

In addition to on-campus training, the club will provide you the opportunity to volunteer annually at a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour. Finally, our club membership is truly multi-national which has allowed us to create an enormous support network in the industry and the world of golf. As a manager in our program, you will benefit from these friendships and learn to build relationships for your future. The Ford is located 15 minutes from Historic Downtown Savannah and a short drive to Tybee Island.    

Duties: We are seeking an individual who is serious about advancing within the industry and eager to gain experience in all facets of golf course maintenance. The preferred candidate will be willing to make a positive impact on the organization and help solve challenging situations. Working with a diverse group of people who are experts in their field, the job responsibilities include the supervision of golf course personnel and daily maintenance of the golf course. The individual will also perform all duties with a focus on exceptional customer service to members and attention to detail. He/she must be able to obtain a pesticide license within 12 months of employment. The candidate must have the ability to work within a team environment and have a strong vision for pursuing golf course management as a career. Punctuality and dependability is required. The position offers an opportunity to be promoted within the department and club. The position reports to the Director of Golf Course and Grounds and Course Superintendent.

Educational Requirements

2 - 4 year degree in Turfgrass management, agronomy or a related field and a minimum of 1 golf course internship.

One weekend required to work with two following weekends off (some months only 1 out of four required).
