The Club at Ruby Hill in Pleasanton, California is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent who is well-versed in the traditional duties of an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, such as daily golf course maintenance operations, course set up, quality control and getting a championship golf course maintained and prepped for daily member and guest play.
The Assistant Superintendent is a vital member of the management team in the golf course maintenance department at The Club at Ruby Hill.
The Club at Ruby Hill is one of the Bay areas premier championship layouts and one of the regions most acclaimed full-service private clubs, situated amidst the splendor of the Livermore Valley Wine Country. The Club at Ruby Hill is the first Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course to be built in Northern California and sits on 225 pristine acres, encompassing golf, tennis, fitness, swimming and bocce ball along with unlimited opportunities for socializing, dining, networking and celebrating.
Educational Requirements
An Associates or Bachelor of Science degree in a related field such as agronomy, turf management , horticulture or soil science is preferred
Experience Requirements
Must have 3-5 years experience as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent or equivalent position at comparable facilities to The Club at Ruby Hill.
Turfgrass growing experience in the Northern California region is desirable.
Must have an understanding of the mechanical maintenance operation of all golf course maintenance equipment, preventative maintenance programs, irrigation hydraulic system and components.
Must have the ability to program, operate and maintain irrigation systems including pump stations, computerized irrigation controls, valves, heads is highly desirable.
Under the direction of the golf course superintendent or director of agronomy the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent assists in the maintenance of the The Club at Ruby Hill and the appropriate grounds according to the Club's standards including mowing and daily set-up duties
Must have a good understanding of all agronomic practices that are typically used to maintain high-end private clubs like The Club at Ruby Hill.
Perform all related golf course maintenance activities as required for this position
Special Requirements
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a pesticide applicators license that meets all the requirements of the State of California.
Must possess a valid/current California Driver's License and have a clean driving record
Must possess basic computer skills to perform data input, report writing, electronic payroll functions, some financial reporting, budget management, email and internet skills
Must have the ability and willingness to work weekends and holidays and flexible hours in order to get the job done as required for this position
