Spray/Applications Technician

Full-time

The Pesticide Technician  is responsible for accurately and safely applying pesticides and fertilizers. They must have a solid understanding of pesticide application techniques and strictly adhere to all safety warnings and personal protective equipment guidelines stated on the pesticide labels. The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate a strong work ethic, emphasizing productivity and efficiency. Effective communication skills are essential, as they will be interacting with the Director of Golf and Grounds, as well as Superintendents. Additionally, they may be required to assist with general golf maintenance duties, such as mowing and cup cutting.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Appropriate pesticide applicator's license/certification (if required by local regulations).
- Strong knowledge of pesticide application techniques and safety precautions.
- Familiarity with various types of pesticides and fertilizers used in the golf industry.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with the Director of Golf and Grounds, Superintendents, and other team members.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical stamina and ability to handle outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Previous experience in golf course maintenance or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Accurately apply pesticides and fertilizers following established guidelines and procedures.
- Adhere to all safety warnings and personal protective equipment requirements specified on pesticide labels.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, emphasizing productivity and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with the Director of Golf and Grounds, Superintendents, and other team members regarding pesticide application plans and schedules.
- Respond promptly to any pesticide-related inquiries or concerns raised by golf course staff or visitors.
- Assist with other general golf course maintenance tasks as needed, including mowing, cup cutting, and equipment operation.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and cleaning to ensure proper functionality.
- Keep accurate records of pesticide application activities, including dates, times, types of pesticides used, and quantities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and best practices related to pesticide application in the golf course industry.
- Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations governing pesticide use and disposal.

Working Conditions
- This position requires outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must be comfortable working around chemicals and pesticides, following all necessary safety protocols.
