Assistant Superintendent

Crosswinds Golf Club, located in Plymouth, MA is seeking an Assistant Superintendent that will work alongside the Superintendent to ensure the golf course expectations are met.

Crosswinds Golf Club is a 27-hole public, privately owned golf course, designed by Hurdzen and Fry. The original 18 holes were built in 2002, and the third nine built in 2006. Crosswinds is a large property with huge elevation changes and beautiful views. There are approximately five acres of greens, forty-five acres of fairways, seven acres of tees and about fifty acres of rough. The property consists of a large driving range with both grass and mats for tee boxes and a short game area.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual that meets daily, weekly, and yearly expectations set by the Superintendent. The right candidate will lead and motivate staff alongside the Superintendent with a great attitude and create a team environment where no one is bigger than the task at hand.

Job Description

·        The Assistant works directly alongside the Superintendent in all aspects of turf maintenance.

·        Supervises and assists maintenance staff in daily duties.

·        This position requires a professionally driven individual who operates with the highest expectations and efficiency.

·        Strong organizational skills are required as it relates to scheduling, budgeting, record‐keeping, and leadership.

·        Required to lead seasoned crew in projects, applications, and daily operations. 

·        Individual understands and demonstrates the requirements and demands of turf maintenance at a high‐level facility.

Educational Requirements

·        Turf certificate, 2 year or 4‐year degree is preferred.

·        Attend continuing educational turf seminars.

·        Acquire and maintain licenses by meeting education requirements. 

Experience Requirements

·        2 years of golf course experience

·        Able to maintain and operate equipment safely.

·       Able to make fertilize and chemical applications.

·        Troubleshoot and repair irrigation.

·        Daily setup of golf course

Special Requirements

·        Must be motivated by a demanding work environment. 

·        Must possess a strong work ethic and attitude.

·        Weekends, holidays, and evening work.

·        Computer and organizational skills. 

·        Must be able to obtain and maintain an applicator spray license from the state of MA within 90 days.
