Assistant Superintendent

Lost City Golf Club is a 27-hole Private golf club located in the City of Atlantis, FL. Originally designed by William Mitchell in the 1960s all 27 holes and practice facilities underwent a renovation the summer of 2021 designed and led by Tom Fazio ll. 

The renovation included redesigns of green complexes, bunkering layout, removal of rough areas and tree lines replaced with waste bunkers, new short game practice area, re-grassing of tees, approaches, roughs and greens.

Playing surfaces include Tif Eagle greens, Tif Tuf tees, approaches, roughs, Celebration fairways and G-angle sand in all formal bunkers.

A successful candidate must be self-motivating, hardworking with a sense of urgency, and able to maintain a positive attitude. It is important that the candidate have strong leadership skills, and is team oriented. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent and Director of Golf Course & Grounds to manage all aspects of the golf course as well as facility grounds. The Assistant will be responsible for the daily supervision of the Agronomy team, including Spray Technicians, Irrigation Technicians, and all full-time and part-time staff.

This could be a great opportunity for candidates who have years of experience working on Golf Courses but find themselves not being able to progress in their career due to lack of education. Educational Requirements

  • Bachelors/ Associates degree in turf agronomy or golf course maintenance desirable.
  • Club would provide financial assistance and support for candidates who do not currently possess a degree or certificate in turfgrass and are eager to obtain these credentials.

 

Experience Requirements

  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Must possess basic computer skills and basic knowledge of Word and Excel

Special Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Florida Pesticide License within 3 months of employment
  • Basic knowledge of Toro Lynx preferred but not required
  • Bilingual is a plus**
