Assistant Superintendent
Richmond County Country Club, founded in 1888, is a 18-hole Robert White design. The only private country club in the five boroughs it is located fifteen minutes from downtown Manhattan. The golf course is currently engaged in the early stages of installing a new irrigation system and an ongoing teeing grounds restoration. The Assistant works closely with the Superintendent in all aspects of turf management to provide the best possible playing conditions daily. Monitoring course conditions, planning and scheduling programs, instructing and leading the staff through daily tasks and projects. Other responsibilities include, but not limited to, disease identification, calibration and application of pesticides, syringing and water management, troubleshooting and irrigation repair.
Educational Requirements
2-4 year degree in Turfgrass Management
Experience Requirements
2 years Turfgrass Management
Special Requirements
Ability to obtain NY pesticide license
Must posses strong work ethic and positive attitude
