Seasonal Grounds Staff

Salary: $20-$25 per hour DOE

Status: Seasonal, Full-Time 

Season: April thru September

Full-Time: 40 hours per week with Overtime potential

Shift: Peak season 6am to 2pm, shoulder season may fluctuate due to weather

Additional:  Must be available to work Weekends and Holidays

Job Summary (Essential Functions): 

• Perform lawn care maintenance including mowing, edging and trim work.  Operating walk behind and riding mowers as well as string trimmers and backpack blowers.

• Perform general golf course maintenance.  Operating greens walk mowers and riding rough mowers.  Additional equipment may  include tractors,  topdressers and aerifiers. 

• Perform irrigation maintenance, adjustments, and repairs.

•  Perform regular hardscape maintenance of walkways, fencing, walls, gates, water features, outdoor lighting, pool, and other hardscape features.

• Assist with general chemical applications including fertilizers, herbicides and pesticide applications and other duties that keep the property beautiful.

• Assist with plant health care activities including mulching, planting, pruning, deadheading, supplemental watering, and other duties that keep the landscape thriving.

• Assists in project work such as drainage, sod laying, preparing base soil, and any other projects that may arise through the season. 

• Assists in special event preparations.

• Communicates problems with conditions to the supervisor immediately.  

• Other duties as job requires.

Education, Experience, Licenses and Special Requirements:

Understanding and correct application of landscape maintenance tools and equipment, as well as current industry techniques and standards

• Minimum 2 years experience in turf maintenance or related field

• Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems  

• Must take initiative with an eye for detail

• Ability to work alone for daily tasks, and work well with others on projects

• Physical capacity to lift and carry 50-lbs; stand, walk, squat for extended periods of time.

• Work outdoors in adverse conditions.

• Exercise discretion and good judgment.

• Montana Pesticide License a plus, but not required
