Job Summary

 

Perform grounds maintenance tasks and landscaping for University golf course.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Performing various landscape maintenance tasks, such as mowing grass, raking leaves; picking up trash; planting; trimming and pruning shrubbery and trees

• Performing various grounds maintenance tasks utilizing hand, precision and power tools

• Communicating any landscaping issues to Golf Superintendent

• Maintain and utilize risk management best practices

• Assist with department and/or facility special events

• Maintain industry standards

• Serve on University and departmental work teams and committees

 

Required Qualifications

 

Educational Requirements

 

• High School Diploma or equivalent

 

Required Experience

 

• One (1) or more years of related work experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications

 

• One (1) year certificate from college or technical school, or one (1) year related experience or training

 

Preferred Experience

 

• Experience within a golf setting

• Experience operating large mowers and/or tractors

 

Proposed Salary

 

$35,000 - $38,761

 

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

ABILITIES

 

• Consistently exhibit engaging customer service

• Ability to support various constituencies served by the University

• Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position

 

KNOWLEDGE

 

• Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success

• Working knowledge operation of mowing equipment

• Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession

 

SKILLS

 

• Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills

• Skilled in the use of a variety of hand, precision and power tools
