Position Overview
Rose Creek Country Club is seeking a leader with an engaging personality and a collaborative management style to serve as Director of Agronomy. He/she will report to the Owner and will continue to elevate the service standards and uphold the tradition and reputation of the club by providing a best-in-class golf course. The Director of Agronomy will oversee the entire golf maintenance operation, have strong financial acumen and have a proven record of excellent staff development. He/she will establish respectful relationships with all department heads and communicate daily with the Director of Golf regarding course conditions. The Director of Agronomy will also understand the seasonality and turfgrass growing demands of the Edmond, OK area. This position is considered a “Working Director of Agronomy” and is expected to be heavily involved in the day-to-day operations and activities of golf course maintenance.
Expericence in basic golf course construction and renovation practices is highly desirable as the club is anticipating completing some "in house" projects in the near future.
Educational Requirements
A two (2) or (4) year degree in turf grass managemnt or related field of study is required

Responsibilities
Monitors the performance of all daily maintenance operations, functions and services; assures the course is maintained to the highest standards.
Seamlessly balances the need for visibility on the golf course with the required administrative duties.
Develops and effectively manages the golf maintenance budget in collaboration with the club’s accountant and the owner.
Adheres to all federal, state and local laws regarding health, safety and employment. Provides resolution of escalated customer service and member issues.
Ensures effective orientation and training for new staff and requires ongoing professional development.
Ensures the accurate recording of hourly labor and timely payroll processing. Attends committee meetings and Board Meetings as directed by the Owner.
Skills, Background & Personality
GCSAA Class A Superintendent or working toward a Class A certification, 3+ years of Golf Course Superintendent experience, or 5+ years of experience as a First Assistant Superintendent at a top-tier private club.
A degree in turf management or a related field of study is required.
Must possess an excellent understanding of all pertinent golf course maintenance activities,
including mechanical, cultural and chemical practices at high-end golf facilities.
Maintains an active Commercial Oklahoma Pesticide License with Turf and Ornamental certification.
Outstanding written and oral business communications.
Proficient in Microsoft applications, irrigation system software and email.
Experience maintaining Bentgrass greens and Bermuda grass fairways, tees and roughs and managing associated pests, weed intrusion, and diseases that may impact these turfgrass varieties.
Experience in drainage, irrigation and lake maintenance

Salary is open and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Club will offer an attractive compensation package commensurate with experience, which will include a competitive base salary and a strong benefits package.
