About the Club and Course:
Brook Hollow Golf Club, founded in 1920, is member-owned and is one of the premier private clubs in the southwestern United States. Brook Hollow has all the amenities of a country club, dining, racquets, and aquatics, but is known for its golf experience. The Club’s A. W. Tillinghast, 18-hole golf course, was renovated in 2020 to its original design that included installation of a Toro 2-wire irrigation system and a pump station, Tahoma 31 Bermudagrass fairways, tees, and rough, 7-7-7 Bentgrass greens with Sub-air and Hydronics systems for controlling sub-surface temperature and air/gas exchange. Brook Hollow has hosted numerous tournaments, including multiple Trans-Miss amateur championships, the USGA Mid-Amateur, as well as USGA and Texas Golf Association championships and qualifiers.
Position Summary:
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will assist in providing daily championship-level golf course conditions. The Assistant will assist in daily and long-term course maintenance, leading, overseeing, training, developing, coaching, and supporting the maintenance team, utilizing state-of-the-art technology in the operations and maintenance of the course.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting with daily assignments, providing guidance, training, coaching, and assistance, ensuring work is completed as expected and in a timely manner.
- Assisting the team and providing guidance and leadership with the implementation of the agronomic plan and budget for the course and grounds.
- Identifying, evaluating, and recommending corrective action for agronomic problem areas, including fungi, pests, and drainage issues.
- Assist in safely and accurately mixing and recording chemicals, and apply or oversee the application of pesticide and fertilizer applications.
- Assisting the team and providing oversight in the daily set-up and maintenance of the course, including routine course maintenance, chemical applications, and equipment operations.
- Assisting and overseeing the team with water management and inspecting the irrigation system, identifying issues, and implementing corrective action.
- Assisting in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of long-term and short-term projects related to renovations, repairs, and care and maintenance of the course.
- Assisting in the training of new and existing staff in golf course equipment operations, safety procedures, and the expectations of the Club.
- Educating and ensuring the team is aware of and following safe work practices, and that maintenance facilities and equipment are safe, clean, and organized.
Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities):
- Previous golf course maintenance experience as an intern, AIT, or assistant.
- Knowledge of pest control products and their applications.
- Knowledge of fertilizer products and their applications.
- Knowledge of irrigation utilization, drainage installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Have a current state pesticide applicator license or the ability to acquire a license.
- Ability to learn and use turf technology.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A Bachelor’s, Associate’s, or Certification in turf grass management, or related experience.
