Assistant Superintendent
INDIAN BAYOU GOLF CLUB IS SEEKING A QUALIFIED AND MOTIVATED INDIVIDUAL FOR THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT.
Indian Bayou Golf Club is an eighteen-hole semiprivate club in Destin on Florida's northern gulf coast. The course was originally designed and renovated by Earl Stone. The property consists of 250 total acres with 100 acres of turfgrass, 3.5 acres of greens, 20 acres of lakes and approximately 15 acres of maintained natural areas and beds. Almost all turf is Tifway bermudagrass with some tees and rough areas in Celebration and BA305 zoysiagrass.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating with the superintendent and other assistant in the planning, scheduling and implementation of maintenance practices and projects.
- Training and supervising employees and being accountable for the finished results of work.
- Maintain awareness and communication of changing course conditions and maintenance needs with the superintendent.
- Carrying out the IPM and plant fertility programs.
- Monitor irrigation needs, coordinating with the superintendent for scheduling and system maintenance and repair needs.
Educational Requirements
BS or AS in plant and soil science, agronomy, horticulture or related programs.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 1 year cumulative experience at or above turfgrass intern.
Special Requirements
Must have or obtain FL commercial applicators license within 6 months of hiring
