Spray/Applications Technician
The Spray Technician reports to the Lead Assistant Superintendent. This Technician performs chemical applications on club property and fertilizes areas on club property including by not limited to greens, tees, fairways, and landscape. This position is responsible for reading, understanding, and keeping current with chemical labels and safety data sheets. This position is also responsible for compiling preliminary reports on pesticide usage for the golf course and grounds.
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or GED: required
Experience Requirements
Previous experience with handling turfgrass pesticides desired, but willing to train
the qualified candidate.
Special Requirements
Ability to manage time, duties, and take ownership of tasks to meet deadlines.
Be able to read and understand labels
Valid Florida State Commercial Applicators License or ability to obtain withing 90 days.
Valid State Driver's License is required.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Able to operate any type of machinery dealing with pesticide or fertilizer applications.
This includes walk spraying, backpack spraying, boom spraying, rotary and drop spreading.
Basic turfgrass mathematic skills.
Able to accurately calibrate a sprayer and spreader.
Grass identification is a plus.
