Irrigation Technician
Position Overview
The Irrigation Technician ensures the golf course’s irrigation system operates efficiently and sustainably. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, system upgrades, and precise water management to maintain optimal turf health.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate and monitor the Toro Lynx central control system.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair all irrigation components—including sprinkler heads, valves, piping (2"–12"), controllers, sensors, satellite stations, pumps, and field controllers.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues within the irrigation network.
• Schedule and adjust irrigation cycles to meet seasonal and turfgrass requirements; perform routine audits to ensure uniform coverage and identify deficiencies.
• Assist with hand‑watering during critical weather or drought periods.
• Support installation or renovation of irrigation infrastructure when necessary.
• Maintain clean, organized irrigation workspaces, tools, and inventory.
• Contribute to basic golf‑course setup tasks such as mowing and changing cups.
Educational Requirements
• High‑school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or turf‑related education preferred.
Experience Requirements
• 1–2 years of golf‑course or landscape irrigation experience.
• Understanding of turf irrigation needs and basic agronomic principles.
• Proficiency with hand tools, pipe fittings, and small‑scale electrical repairs.
• Familiarity with Toro Lynx central control systems.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to operate utility vehicles and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including early mornings and weekends as needed.
