With an exciting future ahead and continued investments into the property, we are seeking two passionate and motivated Assistant Superintendents to join our agronomy team.
Position Summary:
As an Assistant Superintendent, you’ll work directly with the Golf Course Superintendent to support all aspects of golf course maintenance. This is a hands-on leadership role that includes crew supervision, daily setup, and active involvement in cultural practices. Key Responsibilities:

Assist in planning and execution of daily golf course maintenance and projects

Supervise and lead the grounds crew with a positive, team-oriented attitude

Maintain the highest standards of turf care, including mowing, fertilization, irrigation, and pesticide applications

Monitor course conditions and provide timely feedback to the Superintendent

Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment

Participate in irrigation system operation and repair

Support training and development of team members

Champion safe work practices across all maintenance activities

Be up to date on federal, state, and local laws on golf course operations.

Some administrative and executive ability, especially critical in problem-solving and decision-making. Need to work in “team” atmosphere while executing the vision of the Superintendent.

Ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
Educational Requirements
- An Associate’s degree from an intensive two-year turf grass management program.
- Previous work as an assistant to an experienced Golf Course Superintendent is required
- Previous supervisory experience in a club or golf course setting.
Experience Requirements

Minimum 1-2 years of golf course maintenance experience; supervisory experience is a plus

SC Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within 90 days

Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellence

Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as required
Special Requirements
- Passion for the golf industry and a desire to grow professionally

Golf Course Superintendent Association of America (GCSAA)
-
Pesticide Application certification.

Valid driver’s license.

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
-
Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
-
Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.

Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
