Old Sawmill Golf Club, located 30 miles northwest of the historic city of Charleston, South Carolina, is an exclusive private golf club set to open in the fall of 2024. Spanning 465 acres of undulating farmlands adorned with panoramic open landscapes, Old Sawmill pledges to deliver impeccable playing conditions. Comprising an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole par 3 course known as “The Lumber Yard,” paying homage to the sawmill that operated on the property during the early 1900s, the club aims to provide a distinguished golfing experience. Furthermore, the facility will encompass onsite accommodations and an extensive range of member-exclusive events. Under the direction of the Head Golf Course Superintendent, help implement an agronomic program to meet the high standards of our member’s. The Assistant Superintendent will also be engaged in administrative tasks associated with our department.

He/she must also be able to perform all tasks associated with maintaining high-end property with the goal of producing firm/fast conditions, and to allow the golf course to play too the architects intent. 

Primary playing surfaces include Tif-tuff fairways, tees, approaches, and roughs, while greens have been grassed with Tif-eagle.

The Club will over-seed each year. Open from October/November through mid-June, club will then close for aerification and over-seeding.

 

The ideal candidate will have some familiarity with over-seeding operations, ultra dwarf experience is helpful, be able to manage large personnel, and understand the time commitment operating a high-end golf course.

We are seeking someone who is energetic, passionate, and not afraid to get involved. Must be a compassionate leader willing to engage, teachable, and want to perform at the highest-level.
