Green Valley Country Club, located just 15 miles from Center City Philadelphia, is a premier private club with a rich and storied history. Originally named Marble Hall by its founder William Flynn, it was the first “pay-as-you-play” golf course in the Philadelphia area. The course was laid out in the summer of 1924 and has seen subtle refinements over the years by notable architects such as J.B. McGovern, Brian Ault, and Jim Nagle.
Most recently, the golf course has undergone significant improvements, including:
- Drainage installation in the 100-year-old push-up greens
- Rebuilding of the 3rd and 5th greens using a modified 6-2-2 mix with a 2-inch drainage system
- Bunker reconstruction under architect Jim Nagle, featuring Capillary Concrete liners
- A scheduled installation of a new Rain Bird 2-wire irrigation system across the entire property in the summer of 2027
At Green Valley, you will manage a diverse array of green constructions and turfgrass varieties, including:
- Two California greens (putting and chipping greens)
- Three USGA-spec greens
- Thirteen push-up greens with drainage
- Two newly rebuilt 6-2-2 greens
- An 11,000 sq. ft. driving range surfaced with Latitude 36 Bermuda
Turfgrass Composition:
- Greens: Poa annua/Bentgrass mixture
- Fairways: 70% Bentgrass / 25% Poa annua / 5% Ryegrass
- Tees: Bentgrass
- Roughs: Tall Fescue and Kentucky Bluegrass
Salary: DOE ($60,000-$80,000)

Educational Requirements
2 year certificate or 4 year degree preferred
Horticulture Trades Schools also okay
Experience Requirements
2 Years Golf Course experienced preferred but all candidates will be considered.
Special Requirements
Within the 1st year acquire a Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicator License
Knowing some basic Spanish is a plus
