Hobbit’s Glen is consistently rated among the top public golf courses in Maryland. With recent renovations including recently restored fairways, updated bunkering, and a beautiful clubhouse, the course offers outstanding playing conditions and an exceptional experience for both members and staff.
Position Overview:
The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure the highest standards in turf maintenance, agronomy practices, and course presentation. This hands-on role involves leadership, staff training, daily planning, and execution of all aspects of golf course maintenance.

Educational Requirements

High school diploma
-
Degree or certificate in turfgrass management or Assistant Superintendent Certification Series (ASCS) preferred

MD IIIC Pesticide Applicator license within 1 year

MD Fertilizer applicator license within 6 months
Experience Requirements
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

Computer literate

Previous Assistant Superintendent experience preferred but not required
Special Requirements

MD IIIC Pesticide applicator license within 1 year

DOT Physical required

OSHA 10 Hour Construction Certification
