Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club, a premier 18-hole championship facility located in the heart of Columbia, Maryland, is seeking a motivated and career-minded Assistant Superintendent to join our dynamic agronomy team. About the Course: 

Hobbit’s Glen is consistently rated among the top public golf courses in Maryland. With recent renovations including recently restored fairways, updated bunkering, and a beautiful clubhouse, the course offers outstanding playing conditions and an exceptional experience for both members and staff. 

 

Position Overview: 

The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure the highest standards in turf maintenance, agronomy practices, and course presentation. This hands-on role involves leadership, staff training, daily planning, and execution of all aspects of golf course maintenance.

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma 

  • Degree or certificate in turfgrass management or Assistant Superintendent Certification Series (ASCS) preferred 

  • MD IIIC Pesticide Applicator license within 1 year

  • MD Fertilizer applicator license within 6 months

Experience Requirements

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: 

  • Computer literate 

  • Previous Assistant Superintendent experience preferred but not required

Special Requirements

  • MD IIIC Pesticide applicator license within 1 year 

  • MD Fertilizer applicator license within 6 months 

  • DOT Physical required 

  • OSHA 10 Hour Construction Certification
