Internship

Oak Hill Country Club is a 36-hole facility located in Rochester NY. Both championship courses are designed by storied architect, Donald Ross, and the East Course is consistently ranked as a top 25 course in the country and one of the greatest venues for championship golf. Oak Hill will host the 2027 US Amateur Championship. In August of 2019, the East Course went through an extensive restoration project led by architect Andrew Green. The successful completion and reopening of the East Course in May of 2020 has led to a Master Plan for the West Course that will be led again by Andrew Green.

Currently, Oak Hill is looking to fill 2026 internship positions. Individuals selected will be a core member of our team and have ample opportunities to advance their education at Oak Hill. Students who possess a great work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to work as team player will gain substantial experience managing two championship golf courses at the highest level. The internship program has been solely focused on providing our interns with the necessary tools to advance their career. Interns will be given detailed training and guidance into all facets of golf course management with a strong focus on the following:

  •  Water management
    •  Experience based knowledge of how we manage both USGA Bentgrass greens along with Poa/Bentgrass push-up greens.
  • Calibration, chemical and fertilizer application. (Spray Hawking, Boom Spraying)
  •  Irrigation Troubleshooting and repair
  • Numerous agronomic and cultural practices

Educational Requirements

Currently enrolled in a 2 to 4- year degree, or certificate program in turf management, or related field at an accredited university.

 

Experience Requirements

Prefer at least 1 year of golf course maintenance experience, however not necessary

 

 

Special Requirements

Individuals who possess a positive attitude, passion for the turf industry, a strong desire to learn and a desire to be a team player within the staff.
