Assistant Superintendent

The successful candidate will have an outstanding drive to help create and facilitate agronomic programs that exceed expectations. This person will be able to manage the operation with little oversight, have solid critical thinking/problem solving attributes, and thrive taking on multiple responsibilities at once. ·       In collaboration with Head Golf Course Superintendent, implement the agronomic and daily setup program to meet the high standards our members.

·       Senior Assistant will manage/delegate all personnel including multiple assistants, equipment manager, equipment techs, and a crew of 25 people.

·       He/she must have the experience and ability to perform most tasks associated with golf course maintenance and be able to train all staff members accordingly.

·       Administrative roles include timely payroll management, budget input/implementation, water reports, and general reports.

·       Will delegate inventory/ordering of chemical/fertilizers, as well as all other inputs valuable to our success.

·       Contribute content too monthly communications to members and Club Officials.

·       Collaborate with HGCS in managing the irrigation system including daily schedule, maintenance, and repairs.

·       Committed to professionalism, ensure your performance supports the Head Golf Course Superintendent, Club officials, and department itself. 

·       Fill role of Superintendent during his absence, ensuring operation runs smoothly and communication with Club personnel is on point.

Primary playing surfaces include Tif-tuff fairways, tees, approaches, and roughs, while greens have been grassed with Tif-eagle.

The Club will over-seed each year. Open from October/November through mid-June, club will then close for aerification and over-seeding.

The ideal candidate will have some familiarity with over-seeding operations, ultra dwarf experience is helpful, be able to manage large personnel, and understand the time commitment operating a high-end golf course.

Educational Requirements

Associate or Bachelors in related Agronomy field.

Certificates with optimal experience and an associate or bachelors degree accompaning.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 3 years as an assistant superintendent.
