Horticulturist

The Landscape Lead Technician, working under limited supervision, is responsible for planning and executing the landscaping installations and maintenance at the Country Club, including the golf courses. The role supervises and supports the daily landscape management operations, including snow removal, and provides direction to other grounds technicians. The role offers training and shares knowledge on proper procedures, equipment usage, daily operations, and compliance with OSHA and safety regulations. The role also ensures completion of the daily assigned maintenance tasks.

 

- Plans and executes the landscaping installations and maintenance at the Country Club grounds, including the golf courses.

- Supervises and supports the daily landscape management operations, including snow removal, and provides direction to other grounds technicians.

- Offers training and shares knowledge on proper procedures, equipment usage, daily operations, and compliance with OSHA and safety regulations.

- Performs necessary tasks to preserve the health and appearance of seasonal flowers, including watering, fertilization, pesticide application, pre-emergence application, programming irrigation systems, deadheading, pruning, shaping, and weeding beds.

- Assists in the development of plant health care programs through resource management and product application, and maintains and repairs hardscape elements, water features, and irrigation systems.

- Assists in scheduling and coordinating with other leaders during severe snow events and participates in snow removal operations and operates equipment required for snow and ice removal.

- Leads and oversees installation and maintenance programs, as well as provides project status reports and assists leadership in reviewing landscape, irrigation, hardscape, and waterscape designs.

- Coordinates the ordering and delivery of necessary plants and flower materials for corporate events, seasonal decorations.

- Oversees the aquatics program at the Country Club golf courses and supports on-site activities of the aquatic’s contractor.

- Ensures completion of the daily assigned maintenance tasks.

- Maintains complete and accurate property records and keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.

- Adheres to all OSHA and Company safety/training/certification standards within the specified timeframes.

 

Educational Requirements

- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and/or commensurate experience.

Experience Requirements

- 5-8 years of experience in Landscaping and Turf Management, or a related field.
