Assistant Superintendent

Job Summary:

  • Junior National is searching for a driven and team oriented second assistant golf course superintendent to join a highly respected agronomy team in Goodyear Arizona.   • Initial Priorities of the Position:
  • Integrate into the team and understand the club's standards and expectations
  • Learn the layout and unique attributes of the property
  • Become familiar with course duties, golf operations, and departmental collaboration

Key Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills, and Aptitude:

  • Assist in daily maintenance planning, crew supervision, and training
  • Responsible for irrigation system repairs, maintenance, scheduling, and inventory
  • Assist with and execute fertilizer and pesticide applications, including calibration and record-keeping
  • Monitor and enforce safety procedures and Club policies
  • Maintain knowledge of equipment and turfgrass maintenance practices
  • Record and report weather, irrigation, and chemical application data
  • Serve as acting Assistant Superintendent in their absence

Hourly position based on experience. With a minimum of $60,000

Experience Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year experience on a golf course.
  • Interns are welcome to apply
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems, fertilization/pesticide applications, and golf course operations is preferred
  • Arizona pesticide license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license
  • Understanding of golf and etiquette
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Wage depends on experience. Annual estimated compensation starting at $60,000 plus OT
