Trenton Country Club is a Jimmy Norton designed 18-hole facility located in West Trenton, New Jersey. The club was founded in 1897 and went through a course redesign during the 1920’s by famed architect A.W. Tillinghast. Recently, we have partnered with golf course architect, Jim Ryan, on modernizing our master plan for the golf course and practice areas. This modern plan uses 1920’s aerials to capture the old Victorian architecture as well as incorporating modern flare into the design.
At Trenton Country Club, you will manage a variety of construction mixes and turfgrass varieties:
- Two USGA greens

Eighteen push-up greens
- 6 of which have drainage on a 6-foot spacing
Turf Types on all playing surfaces:
- Greens: Bentgrass/ Poa annua mixture
- Tees: Bentgrass
- Fairways: Bentgrass 60% / Perennial ryegrass 40%
- Rough Areas: Tall Fescue / Perennial Ryegrass
- Clubhouse lawns: Low Mow Kentucky Bluegrass
Recent construction and capital improvements made to the golf course infrastructure:

Golf course master plan work includes
- Rebuilt #1 tee and blended into the putting green
- Revamping of the 2 tee / 1 green complex
- Two additional bunkers were added on hole 1 and hole 17
- Multiple fine fescue areas added throughout property
- More construction is planned for the near future via outside contractors and in house completion
- Installation of a brand-new Rainbird irrigation system in 2024.
- New Cirrus Pro operating system
- All HDPE piping
- Pump station replacement to be completed in the fall of 2026
Educational Requirements
2 or 4 year turf degree is preferred but not required.
Currently possess or ability to obtain a NJ pesticide license.
Experience Requirements
2-4 years Golf Course experienced preferred but all candidates will be considered.
Ability to applicate pesticides and fertilizers with confidence.
Ability to communicate with a predominantly spanish speaking team.
Familiarity with Rainbird irrigation systems is a plus.
