Seasonal Intern

Merion Golf Club is a 36-hole private golf club established in 1896 located in Ardmore, Pennsylvania just under 10 miles outside of Philadelphia. The Club’s internationally renowned East Course has hosted 19 USGA championships which is more than any other golf course in the United States. The East Course is currently ranked 6^th on Golf Digest’s Top 100 Golf Courses and is the host of the 2026 U.S. Amateur. The U.S. Amateur will be hosted August 7^th through August 16^th and the internship will require the individual to work the duration of the tournament. Most recently the East Course went through a full golf course renovation in 2018 by Gil Hanse with state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Merion Golf Club is currently seeking motivated students for our 2026 Internship Program who are interested in gaining valuable industry experience. Merion Golf Club takes great pride in being a great place to work and in developing talent. The internship will be a rotational position between our two golf courses and includes additional educational opportunities. We will tailor each intern’s experience to their career goals, experience level and interests.

Interns will perform work in all aspects of golf course maintenance and work with the superintendent and assistants. This includes:

·         Regular daily maintenance practices

·         Chemical/fertilizer applications and calibrations

·         Hand watering techniques on all playing surfaces

·         Integrated pest management

·         Exposure to data collection (USGA GS3)

·         Irrigation repair

Interns will also have the exposure to our Club’s unique General Manager & Department Manager All-Intern Sessions. These sessions include interns from each club department and give the interns the opportunity to learn about all facets of club management. Interns are able to interact with Club leadership and learn more about Club operations, financials, and other interesting topics. The Club’s executive team uses these sessions to impart valuable knowledge and get to know each of the interns individually.

On-site housing is provided by the Club as well as lunch and dinner six days per week. Starting intern rate is $19.75/hour.
