Bull’s Bridge Golf Club, a premier Tom Fazio-designed course nestled in the scenic rolling hills of Connecticut’s Litchfield County, is seeking an energetic and skilled Senior Assistant Superintendent. - Staff: 22-25 in peak season; 12 full-time seasonal; 7 in winter

Typical schedule:
- In-season: 6 days/week, one long weekend off per month (60+ hours/week)
- Off-season (Nov 15 – Apr 1): 5 days/week, 4-day workweek in January (40 hours/week)
- Irrigation system: Toro
- Equipment: Mix of leased and purchased Toro and John Deere
- Turf types: Bentgrass playing surfaces, Bluegrass rough overseeded with TTTF
- Recent projects: New clubhouse, 2-acre short game and Himalaya green, clubhouse lawns and irrigation system upgrades
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily course maintenance and turf health.
- Manage irrigation systems, including monitoring, repairs, and adjustments.
- Lead staff meetings, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Direct and refine spray programs and fertilizer applications.
- Support seasonal and cultural practices to ensure championship-level conditions.
- Participate in planning and preparation for infrastructure projects (irrigation, pump station, range, and bridge improvements).
- Maintain strong communication with the Superintendent and other departments.

Initial Priorities of Position:
- Learn daily operations and integrate with the team and Superintendent.
- Refine agronomic and cultural practices following recent upgrades.
- Take ownership of irrigation management, clubhouse lawns, short game area, and upcoming projects.
- Build familiarity with the 2026 pump station replacement and long-term irrigation overhaul.
- Lead staff training, development, and evaluation processes.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Superintendent and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Turfgrass Management or related field.
- 4-7+ years of Assistant Superintendent experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in turf management software and reporting tools.
- Deep knowledge of agronomy, irrigation, and turf care best practices.
- Experience or interest in planning and installing irrigation systems.
- Ability to stay current with industry trends through continuing education.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $90,000 – $95,000 annually

Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Turfgrass Management or related field.
