Seasonal Intern
White Bear Yacht Club was originally founded as a sailing club in 1889. The club started with nine holes laid out by William Watson and expanded to 18 holes by 1915. The golf course still plays to 17 of the original greens! It is a premier golf experience, not just for the Twin Cities but for the Midwest in general.
Interns will be regarded as assistant superintendents, providing them with what we think is a very comprehensive experience in golf course maintenance. Throughout their experience, they will be entrusted with responsibilities that encourage ownership, including but not limited to:
-Chemical and fertilizer calibrations and applications
-Operation and troubleshooting of a Rain Bird two-wire HDPE system
-Golf course setup for peak performance
-Introduction to small-group and large-group leadership
-Introduction to budgeting and expense management
Additionally, there are always more learning opportunities based upon the student's or recent graduate's interest.
