Seasonal Intern

Carmel Country Club is a 36-hole facility located in Charlotte, NC. The South Golf Course was renovated in 2010 by Rees Jones and consists of Zeon zoysia grass tees/fairways, Celebration Bermuda rough, and A1 bentgrass greens. In 2025 the bunkers were renovated with capillary concrete and all greens had a Subair system installed.

The North Course was renovated in 2016 by John Fought Design. The renovation consisted of many architectural changes that include a new Toro irrigation system, course drainage, bunkers, greens, tees, and fairways. The course was grassed with Champion UltraDwarf bermudagrass greens and 419 Bermudagrass tees, fairways, and roughs. 

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Golf Course Superintendents and Assistants daily to gain multiple course experience on a variety of different turf species on one property while using some of the newest technology in the business.  

Duties will involve all aspects of Golf Course Management.  Specifically this will include water management responsibilities, fertilizer and pesticide calibration and application as well as all aspects of turfgrass mowing, grooming, verticutting, topdressing, rolling and aerifying.  Intern will also be involved in IPM strategies along with crew management and team building.  An internship project will be self-created and accomplished during allotted internship period and at least one week will be spent with the equipment manager team.  Interns are required to attend all manager meetings in the morning and will have responsibilities pertaining to happenings on the golf course as a whole.  This will NOT be an exercise in weedeating and handwatering until 9:00 pm.
