Burning Tree Country Club is a premier private golf club located in the heart of Greenwich, Connecticut. Known for its rich history, championship 18-hole golf course, and commitment to excellence, Burning Tree takes pride in maintaining world-class playing conditions for our Members and guests.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Golf Course Intern to join our Agronomy team for the 2026 season. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in high-end golf course management while working alongside a passionate, experienced team.
The 2025 season will be an especially exciting time at Burning Tree, as we undertake a significant capital improvement project that includes installing a brand-new, state-of-the-art irrigation system. Interns will have the rare opportunity to participate directly in this transformative phase of course development, gaining exposure to both daily maintenance and long-term agronomic planning
Educational Requirements
Enrollment in or recent completion of a Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related degree program.
Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Dependable, team-oriented, and committed to excellence.
Flexibility to work varying schedules during peak season.
A passion for learning and a drive to build a career in golf course management.
Experience Requirements
1 season in turf or horticultural related field.
Special Requirements
Arrive on time, ready to contribute, and maintain a professional and positive attitude.
Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and strong communication within the team.
Work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed based on golf course operations.
Take pride in maintaining the highest standards of course presentation and Member satisfaction.
Job Benefits
Housing: Shared intern housing is provided in Stamford, CT (a short drive from the Club).
Compensation: $22.00 per hour, with overtime opportunities.
Golf privileges, uniforms, meals during shifts, and valuable networking with regional turf professionals.
20 minute train ride to New York City.
