Assistant Superintendent
The Pointe Golf Club, located in Powells Point, North Carolina, just minutes from the Outer Banks, is a popular 18-hole public golf facility known for its playable layout, exceptional playing conditions, and welcoming atmosphere. Our company is seeking a motivated individual with strong leadership skills, a hands-on work ethic, and expertise in bermudagrass fairways and bentgrass greens management. Must hold a NC pesticide license. We require a motivated professional with a positive attitude and a “lead-by-example” mentality—someone who takes pride in their work and inspires excellence in others.
Educational Requirements
Turfgrass management degree preferred, but not required.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in turfgrass management.
- Strong agronomic background with proven success managing warm-season and cool-season turfgrasses.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a North Carolina Pesticide Applicator License.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

- Communicate with acting superintendent and implement all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomic programs per his/her instructions.
- Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance staff to ensure efficient and consistent course conditioning.
- Manage the care of bermudagrass fairways, bentgrass greens, roughs, tees, and landscaping.
- Calibrate and apply fertilizers and pesticides safely and effectively.
- Maintain and troubleshoot irrigation systems and pumps.
- Prepare annual budgets and manage expenses responsibly.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Communicate effectively with ownership and golf operations staff to meet course standards and goals.
