Assistant Superintendent
Hunting Creek Country Club is an 18 hole private golf course located in Prospect, KY. We are currently hiring an Assistant Superintendent to join our team. This role is vital to both turf management and team leadership. Responsibilities include overseeing disease and pest control, managing irrigation and water usage, assigning tasks,training and leading irrigation repairs, and managing daily operations. The Assistant superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent to plan and implement both short-term and long-term goals.
The golf course consists of USGA, T-1 Creeping Bentgrass greens. Currently, about 75% of our tees are bentgrass but we are in the process of resodding them to Zeon Zoysia. Our goal is to have all tees converted to Zeon Zoysia by the end of next year. Our fairways are Meyer Zoysia, and the rough is a mix of bermudagrass and tall fescue.
Educational Requirements
Two year certificate or four year bachelors in Turfgrass Science or related field is preferred.
Experience Requirements
Strong agronomic background
Irrigation maintenance and repairs
Knowledge in chemical applications
Eager to lead and develop team members
Special Requirements
- Ability to obtain Kentucky Pesticide Applicators License
- Valid drivers license
- Proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred
