Seasonal Intern

Internship

Hollywood Golf Club is home to a well-renowned championship golf course designed by Walter J. Travis in 1917 and masterfully restored to its original intent by Brian Schneider and Renaissance Golf Design in 2014. The club has hosted numerous golf championships throughout our rich history at the State, Regional and National level. Next on our tournament schedule is hosting the 2027 NJ State Open.

HGC is currently ranked 7th best in the golf rich state of New Jersey by Golf Digest, #52 on Top 100 Classic courses by Golfweek and #75 in Golf Magazine Top 100 courses in the U.S. We are a private, member-owned, family-friendly club located less than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean, in the town of Deal, located in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

The Hollywood Golf Club grounds staff provides students with a fully comprehensive internship experience. We take great pride in providing pristine playing conditions for our membership, and we are looking for dedicated individuals who want to excel in the golf course industry. Through various networking opportunities they can expect to make lasting connections that will greatly benefit them throughout their turf career. Interns will be trained in various high level agronomic practices to maintain and improve a championship level golf course.

While working here interns will be encouraged to REACH THEIR GREATEST POTENTIAL! Our goal is to do everything that we can to prepare them for the next step in furthering their career following their time at HGC. The opportunity of full-time employment, post-graduation is also available. Duration of the internship is flexible for each candidate from March 1st on.  We welcome both 3 and 6 month interns, and are open to any other durations based on the applicants school requirements. On-site housing is included for this internship. Interns will have a FULLY FURNISHED PRIVATE ROOM in the family style course/club managers house privately adjacent to the grounds department facility. The house provides both indoor and outdoor areas for recreation after work.

THREE SCHOLARSHIPS  are available via the club and its affiliations that have been received by past interns to great success. We can/will help you prepare and apply for these golf based scholarships. Each intern will be assigned to an assistant superintendent in our one-on-one mentoring program and will work closely with them to gain greater depth into the managerial side of day-to-day operations and all things OFF the golf course. They will also be a part of our Green Chairman ride around program. Interns will have the opportunity to spend an afternoon with the green committee chairman while they take a trip around the golf course to learn more about its history, changes made over the years and challenges from a knowledgeable member's perspective. Interns will also be invited to sit in at a green committee meeting to peak into the inner workings and course management of a high end private golf club.
