Spray/Applications Technician

We are currently seeking an IPM manager/Spray application technician to join our Agronomy Team at RedHawk Golf Course in Nampa, Idaho. We are a daily-fee public 18-hole golf course. This position is crucial to our Agronomy operation as we have over 100 chemical applications to be made between March-November not including granular applications. This could be a full time position (40Hr/week), or part time position (5-6 hour shifts Monday-Friday, weekends off - total of about 25-30Hr/week). The ideal candidate would have an Idaho spray license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days, and extensive knowledge on the general understanding of chemicals and fertilizers & proper mixing practices. Would also consider an individual with a track record of moving up with the goal of becoming a Superintendent one day wanting to learn this part of the operation.

Educational Requirements

  • Turf/Horticulture  certificate or degree preferred but not mandatory
  • National GCSAA membership or local Idaho GCSA membership preferred
  • Current state of Idaho Pesticide Applicator's License holder or the ability to obtain one within 90 days 

 

 

Experience Requirements

  • The understanding of thoroughly & properly calibrating spray rigs and spreaders, and the ability to perform correct math regarding product rates, carrier rates, etc when/if needed in conjunction with the Superintendent
  • Organization and the attention to detail when reading application mixing sheets & the mixing process
  • The safe and proper operation of performing spray applications on a weekly basis and understanding spray programs
  • Ability to properly clean and maintain sprayers on a consistent basis
  • Detailed record keeping in conjunction with the Superintendent or Assistant using the PlayBooks Coverage software
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Helping out with golf course setup not involving IPM when/if needed
