Seasonal Intern

Internship

Cobbs Creek Golf Course

Founded in 1916, Cobbs Creek Golf Course has long been one of Philadelphia’s most historic public golf courses, a place where the game was accessible to everyone, and where champions and everyday golfers shared the same fairways. Known for its deep roots in the city’s golf history, Cobbs Creek has been a community cornerstone for more than a century.

The Vision: A Historic Restoration and Modern Rebirth

Cobbs Creek Golf Course is undergoing a massive restoration and redevelopment project scheduled for completion in Fall 2027. This once-in-a-generation project — led by renowned architects Jim Wagner and Gil Hanse — is transforming the property into a world-class, 27-hole golf facility that celebrates its historic design while setting new standards in sustainability and agronomy.

Interns Will Be Part of History

As an Agronomy Intern, you won’t just observe — you’ll take part in every phase of this ambitious transformation, including: new course construction with Hanse Golf Design; seeding & grow-in of 007XL creeping bentgrass greens, tees, and fairways; installation of over 3,000 irrigation heads; construction of a new maintenance complex, pro shop, and cart barn; and environmental restoration of the Cobbs Creek watershed.

  • Able to follow direction and then work independently with minimal supervision

  • Professional, respectful attitude toward staff, contractors, and community partners
