Assistant Superintendent

Shannopin Country Club, located close to the Ohio River just north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is seeking a strategic leader, who desires to help oversee the Emil Loeffler design. The individual should have a passion for agronomy and desire to enhance their turfgrass knowledge, experience, and career. At Shannopin, we take pride in our highly motivated work environment and staff. We work diligently and efficiently to improve golf course conditions and maintain progressive standards. Shannopin Country Club will be undertaking a full course irrigation system installation/replacement project, beginning in August of 2026. The Assistant Superintendent will be involved in project planning and oversight along with Golf Course Superintendent, Project Architect, and Contractor.

The Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. Under the Superintendent’s supervision, the Assistant Superintendent will manage and oversee staff. The Assistant Superintendent will also be responsible for chemical applications, chemical inventory, communication with Pro Shop, irrigation repairs, daily irrigation practices, budget analysis, etc. This position is an exciting opportunity to join a skilled agronomy team and advance as an individual in the turfgrass industry.
