Our expansive property features an 18-hole championship course, a massive 35-acre Practice Park, a private lake club, and multi-sport amenities.

Boot Ranch contains Tifeagle Bermuda greens and Tifsport Bermuda fairways, complemented by turf-type tall fescue and native areas. We are committed to innovation, currently managing test plots of Tahoma 31, Latitude 36, Tiftuff, and Platinum TE Paspalum to guide future renovations.

The Opportunity

This role is designed for a professional aiming to become a Head Superintendent. You will gain hands-on experience with large-scale enhancement projects every off-season and play a vital role in our year-round operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations: Lead daily planning, staff recruiting, hiring, and training for a year round crew of approximately 25.
  • Agronomics: Help execute precision spraying and fertilizer applications, water management, and detailed record-keeping/data analysis.
  • Leadership: Work closely with the Director of Agronomy and Superintendent to make sure a strong team first atmosphere is in place. Help mentor our 2nd assistant and annual interns. Collaborate with the irrigation and equipment technicians.
  • Project Management: Help oversee annual course enhancements and experimental turfgrass test plots.

Educational Requirements

Online certificate, Two-year certificate, Associate, or Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management.

Experience Requirements

1–2 years of experience as a 2nd Assistant Superintendent.

Special Requirements

  • Core Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of chemical application equipment.
    • Proven leadership, time-management, and organizational skills.
    • Attention to detail and a passion for the turf industry.
    • Ability to solve problems and follow complex written/oral directions.
    • A golfer’s understanding of the rules and playability is a plus.
