Assistant Superintendent
Position Summary
Duncan Golf Management at Eagle Valley Golf Course is looking for a motivated, highly skilled professional to fill the position of Assistant Superintendent. Under the superintendent’s supervision, the assistant directs and participates in the maintenance of all golf course features, equipment, and facilities. The Assistant Superintendent may serve in the Golf Superintendent’s capacity in the event of their absence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in the supervision and direction of golf course maintenance personnel, including training, scheduling, and evaluation.
- Assist in the implementation of the golf course maintenance plan and participate in the preparation of reports and maintenance records.
- Work with the Golf Course Superintendent and Director of Operations to develop projects and programs to maintain and improve the golf course, including the irrigation system, greens, fairways, tees, bunkers, landscape beds, and clubhouse landscaping.
- Help manage the maintenance of all equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are always in proper working order.
- Assist with the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures for the grounds department.
- Communicate with other departments within the golf club to ensure proper maintenance procedures are followed.
- Maintain accurate records of all supplies and equipment used and report any equipment failures or malfunctions in a timely and accurate manner to the Golf Course Superintendent.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent or Golf Course Manager.
Experience Requirements
· 2 years of experience in the maintenance, operation or management of a gold course and related facilities and equipment, including 1 year of supervisory experience.
· Undergraduate college study in turf agronomy or golf course maintenance is desirable.
· Knowledge of agronomy, turf grass science and the rules of golf.
· Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers and various types of pumps and pumping systems.
· Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
