Horticulturist

Caves Valley Golf Club is looking for a Horticulturist to manage the day to day operations of the horticulture team. The candidate will report directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and Senior Assistant Superintendents. The horticulture team maintains golf course facilities grounds, which include club house complex, seven cottages, learning center, main entrance, parking lots, golf course landscaping, halfway house, and common areas throughout the adjacent community.

The Horticulturists main responsibilities include:

• Maintaining an effective working relationship and open line of communication with direct reports on daily operations of the horticulture staff
• Daily scheduling and organizing of 6-8 member crew
• Develop and oversee the annual landscape budget including;
• Generating Annual Budget
• Procurement and installation of plant material
• Implement and monitor pest control and fertilization practices amongst all landscape areas
• Provide technical, operational, and safety training for horticulture employees to ensure that staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.
• Design and install new landscape beds and trees on golf course
• Coordinates snow removal of clubhouse, cottages, main roads, and residential community.
