Evermore Orlando Resort is an expansive and technically complex property spanning 1,100 acres with multiple operational components. The resort integrates resort-owned vacation rental homes, large-scale water features, and extensive recreational infrastructure. The eight-acre Evermore Bay lagoon includes advanced water treatment, circulation, and safety systems that require continuous monitoring. Two championship golf courses, numerous pools, water sports facilities, and a wide range of amenities, including pickleball courts, event spaces, and dining venues, further enhance the offerings. This diverse environment demands sophisticated engineering oversight to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability across all systems.

Position Summary:
As a Spray Technician and Assistant Superintendent in Training (AIT), you will drive daily golf maintenance operations while preparing for a leadership role. Your primary focus includes the precise application of fertilizers and chemicals, alongside irrigation management, course setup, and equipment operation. In addition to technical duties, you will serve as a Team Lead, mentoring staff and providing the resources necessary to support the department's growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Golf Maintenance Support: As a Golf Maintenance Support team member, you will assist leadership, including the Director and Superintendents in planning and executing daily tasks such as mowing, topdressing, irrigation, and fertilization across all greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
Team Lead: As a Team Lead, you will guide and mentor the golf maintenance team, ensuring adherence to high standards and protocols while learning the responsibilities of an Assistant Superintendent.
- Staff Leadership & Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for staff, provide direction for daily assignments, coach skill development, and act as a liaison between the team and management to address issues promptly.
- Operational Support: Assist with scheduling, standup meetings, training, performance reviews, and documentation.
- Training: Responsible for training other team members assigned to similar tasks.
- Water Management & Irrigation: Oversee hand-watering of greens, watering in applied chemicals or fertilizers as needed, and assist in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the irrigation system to ensure efficient water distribution
- Application & Calibration: Expertly apply fertilizers and pesticides across resort properties using hand spreaders, push spreaders, hand sprayers, and riding sprayers, ensuring all equipment is properly calibrated.
- Agronomic Health: Assist in implementing and monitoring pest and disease management programs to maintain premium turf conditions.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all chemical and fertilizer applications and related maintenance activities.
- Environmental Stewardship: Execute best practices for environmental responsibility to protect the natural surroundings of the golf course, landscape grounds, and maintenance facilities.
Equipment Operation: In the role of Equipment Operator, you will safely utilize and maintain a variety of machinery, including sprayers and utility vehicles, while ensuring all operations adhere to strict safety protocols.
- Equipment Maintenance: Support the safe operation and upkeep of golf course equipment, ensuring all machinery is functional and addressing mechanical issues promptly.
- Safety & Training: Serve as a lead equipment operator and trainer, ensuring all staff members are proficient and safely trained in the proper use of all tools and maintenance equipment.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Safety & Compliance: Uphold and enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for all staff and guests.
· Project Support: Participate in golf course improvements, landscaping enhancements, and renovation projects under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent.
· Financial Stewardship: Assist in managing the department budget by contributing to cost-control measures and expense forecasting.
· General Duties: Perform all other tasks as assigned to support the needs of the Golf Maintenance Department.
Education:
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred Education: A degree in Horticulture, Turfgrass Management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
- Industry Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in golf course maintenance operations.
- Agronomic Applications: Prior experience with golf course chemical and fertilizer applications is required.
- Leadership: Managerial or supervisory experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of golf course maintenance, landscaping, spray and chemical applications, equipment operation, and irrigation systems.
- Work Ethic & Problem Solving: Strong work ethic, high adaptability, and the ability to solve problems independently.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills for team coordination, guest interactions, and mentoring colleagues.
- Leadership & Coaching: Proven ability to provide positive guidance, support, and coaching to other team members in their daily duties.
- Learning Agility: Strong active listening skills, ability to take direction, ask questions, and commit to continuous learning.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure the golf course is consistently maintained to the highest standards.
- Golf Knowledge: Strong understanding of the basic principles and etiquette of golf.
- Language & Instruction: Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions in English independently, including immediate safety commands.
- Autonomy: Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision, follow directions, and successfully complete assignments.
- Safety & Compliance: Adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Equipment Operation: Proficient in operating a wide range of golf maintenance equipment, from hand tools to all mower operations.
- Time Management: Strong time management skills and the ability to effectively multi-task in a busy work environment.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Professional Education: Enrollment in or completion of coursework in Turf Management, Horticulture, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience and education will be considered.

Required Licensing: Possession of, or the ability to obtain, at least one of the following certifications within 90 days of hire or promotion:
- State of Florida Commercial Turf & Ornamental License
- Florida Golf Course Best Management Practices (BMP) Certification
- Green Industries Best Management Practices (GI-BMP) Certification
- Limited Commercial Fertilizer Applicator License
Physical Requirements:
- Physical Agility: Ability to stand and remain mobile for the duration of a full shift, with the capacity to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach repeatedly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strength & Stamina: Capable of safely lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Environmental Exposure: Comfort working in a variety of conditions, including prolonged outdoor exposure to Florida’s heat, humidity, and inclement weather, as well as indoor maintenance areas.
Sensory Proficiency: Must possess the visual acuity, hearing, and olfactory senses necessary to monitor equipment performance and identify chemical applications; maintain high manual dexterity for the precise operation of tools and machinery.
